About us

Our mission

The advancement of education and training through the promotion and sharing of pedagogical renewal and innovation — for the benefit of teachers, trainers and educators across every sector, across Europe.

APRIETE supports schools, colleges and training organisations by exposing them to — and helping them apply — renewed and innovative pedagogical processes. Rather than working in one country or one sector, we build our practice across the whole of the United Kingdom and the wider European Economic Area.

The people who ultimately benefit are wide-reaching: teachers and trainers in service and in training, the learners and students they teach, and — through better education — society as a whole. Improved pedagogical relevance means a better learning experience at every level, including adult education.

Teachers, trainers & educators

In service or in training, across all educational and training sectors.

Where

UK & the EEA

Principally the United Kingdom, extending across the European Union and European Economic Area.

What we do

Six ways we put renewal into practice

From research to the classroom door — how we develop, share and embed innovative pedagogy.

Research

We carry out research that feeds the development of renewed and innovative pedagogical resources and materials.

Free, open resources

Everything we research or develop is shared freely — direct downloads from our website, social media, YouTube, and platforms such as EPALE and ESEP.

Advice & advocacy

We raise awareness through conferences, seminars and workshops — primarily in the UK, but also across Europe.

European partnerships

We contribute to European strategic partnerships as a full partner, associated partner, or key stakeholder.

Teacher training

We work with teacher-training organisations — in the UK and across Europe — as visiting lecturers and guest speakers.

Agency collaboration

We collaborate with the UK's national Erasmus+ agency and the department of education and training, alongside agencies in France, Germany, Belgium, Ireland and Luxembourg.

Who it reaches

Every member of the public involved in education or training — and, more broadly, a society that benefits when the people working within it were better educated and trained.

What we're set up to achieve

The identification, adaptation and development of renewed and innovative pedagogical practices, resources and materials — promoted and shared with teachers, trainers and educators across every sector.
